Time has passed, and I am not so young.
My old love went away, breaking my heart each day, isn’t that enough? Then you take our little girl, treating me like I was dirt.
Must you destroy her too?
There I stood in that motel room, believing all was lost.
In that old drawer were words that leaped up, a gift of a bible.
It was as if an eternity had passed, and your words just grabbed me up.
You walked every step of my life as it fell apart all those years ago.
Pushing me up, swirling colors of emotion playing a love song made just for me!
You reached down and brought me up from the depths of despair and encircled me with your love.
The melody of the song drawing me ever near to love so profound and dear!
I thought I would surely die until you showed me how to fight.
Not with weapons, hate, or violence, only with love, could wrong be undone.
I knelt before you, and that candlelight glowed!
I prayed for the one who tried to destroy my soul!
Mercy and Protection
Words of forgiveness flowed
The light dissolved my pain, turning my scars into beauty, dignity, and respect.
Embraced by my heavenly father’s love, the Holy Spirit in motion. Heard my cries down on my knees crying out; father, please!
In the wink of an eye, he placed my child back in my loving arms.
All things are possible for those who believe, just like when God serenaded a wretch like me?
With his love song, long ago.
Heavenly Father, I glorify and lift you, because you are worthy, worthy of praise, you are the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, Healer, Advocate, Almighty, Author, and Perfecter of Our Faith, Deliver, Faithful and True! The Great I Am, the King of Kings, the Light of the World. Humbly, I offer gratitude and thanks for all you have done in my life and all that you will do still. I praise you for you are Holy and I love you, I adore you, the lifter of my soul. Lord, I pray just as you poured your loves song into me that you would pour it out to all who are in need tonight who are going through the storms of life. May you serenade them with the word, which is truth, and encircle them with your overflowing, unconditional love, in Jesus’s name. Amen!
